In Bound High, you play as a bouncing robot named Chalvo. The main draw was that Chalvo would ue the 3-D To "Bounce" up and down. Because of there conflicting names (bound HIGH, dragon HOPPER) and the fact that they were shown at the same show lead people to believe that they were the same game. THEY ARE NOT! The SMS (or sega master system) was a short lived console. But now, Bock From SMS power has found and Dumped Three new games! To quote form SMS power...

Super Bioman I (슈퍼바이오맨 I) for the Samsung Gam*Boy / Master System - another of odd clone based on Su*** Ma*** Br** 3. In typical version of those unlicensed clones, it appears on the surface to be a nice and complete package but the game-play of this one seems to have been engineered specifically to drive you mad from the first screen. GOD SPEED YOU!

Super Boy I (수퍼보이 I) for the Samsung Gam*Boy / Master System, first of the legendary Super Boy serie. This is using the same or a similar engine as Super Boy II but at least with different levels.

Super Boy III / Super Boy 3 for the Samsung Gam*Boy / Master System. Using a whole different engine and set of ripped artworks, this one happens to be the less incompetent game of the series. The odd tile based rendering of diagonal pipes gives it a unique charm.

Imagine. Twenty years ago, we found Yoshi. Twenty years ago, we built a city. Twenty years ago, we buckled up and started racing. Twenty years ago, the Super Nintendo was released. With an impressive lifespan of eight years (thanks satellaview!) and over 1,000 titles.

So it was very, very hard to pick twenty titles to call the best. Every game in the top five was number one at one point in time. But after tons of playing (a shout out to Gamemaster 600VG for letting me play his huge SNES collection) and some gray areas (hey, I had to play Earthbound, okay?) here you go – NES Dev’s Top 20 SNES Games!

20: Killer Instinct. Most of you know it as the over-hyped Ultra64 game that had CCCCombo breaker. But this game is much, much more. It has some amazing graphics and very good use of the SNES’s Controls, Plus some great combo drive gameplay.

19: Mario Paint. The SNES mouse Civilization was one of the saddest little peripherals ever. There were some good games on it like Arkanoid and and bad ones like Doom, but in the end, it had amazing games like Mario Paint. You could make songs, animations and paintings. It was really advanced for its time and it is still a very popular title today, with tons of people still making remix’s of popular songs using the built in music maker.

18: Axelay: Axelay just might be one of the best shooters ever. Its mastery of Mode 7 a year before Startfox came out led to some impressive bosses, like the Lava Monster on level 5. It variety of weapons also gives it a leg up from most SNES shooter’s.

17: Zombies Ate My Neighbors: ZAMN is probably the best multi-player game on the SNES due its overhead view, zombie apocalypse theme, fast-paced shooting action and most importantly, mult-player that worked. Don’t forget its plentiful Easter eggs and expansive levels. ZAMN would be ranked higher but it is too difficult for its own good.

16: Super Double Dragon: This title, built from the successful Double Dragon template had co-op, a variety of sweet locations and weapons, and more. One of the all-time great Beat-um-ups.

15: Pilot Wings: This title gets a lot of flak, but it is a great title. With beautiful Mode 7 and fun mini-games like Sky Diving, Pilot Wings was the closest people could get to flying a plane for a long time. It also layed down the path for it immensely popular brother, Pliotwings 64.

14: The Firemen: The Firemen, a PAL only title was Burning Rangers before Burning Rangers. This isometric game casts you in the role of Pete, a young rookie fire fighter tasked with putting out fires. The game is action packed and a must-own, even if you have to pay the outrageous $50 for a PAL copy.

13, 12, 11 The Street Fighter II’s: The World Warrior was the first Street Fighter game on the SNES with great controls and good graphics, making it the definitive port. Next came Hyper Fighting which had enhanced speed and playable bosses. The New Challengers, the Third and final SF II title on the SNES added four new characters, Fei-Long, Dee Jay, T. Hawk and Cammy.

10. Kirby’s Avalanche: KA, better known as Puyo Puyo, was an SNES puzzle game starring Kirby and friends. It’s addictive game play and cutesy graphics make it a must-have.

9. Tetris and Dr. Mario: Two of the world’s greatest games in 1. ‘Nuff said.

8. Harvest Moon: Despite this being late in the SNES life cycle, this game lets you make and grow a farm, get married, build a family and more. It is one of the best simulation games on the SNES.

7. Earthbound: Earthbound, the quirky cult classic featuring a twisted version of America was so good that it garnered huge internet fame, and for good reason. With its funny sense of humor and whimsical sound track, it is easy to see why this game was so popular. It is one of the best SNES RPGs.

6. Super Punch Out!!: The second game in the three game series, you once again put on Mac’s laced-up boots, fighting new rivals and introducing star punches. This title gives the top five a run for its money.

5. Super Mario Kart: SMK not only invented the kart racing genre, it also was an amazingly fun 3-D racer with Mario and his pals breaking the platforming barrier to have some fun. It also was the only MK that let you race as a Koopa.

4. Super Mario World: What can I say about this game that hasn’t already been said? With its sweet music, secret paths, new items, bonus stages, Yoshi and more! One of the all-time great platformers.

3. Super Mario Excite Bike: What? A Satellaview game on this list? Yes. Super Mario Excite Bike (full name Super Mario Bun Bun Battle Stadium) is basically Excite Bike with enhanced graphics, a better stage creator, coins, and Mario characters. Sadly, the title is only playable through emulation or buying a SFH memory card in hopes SNES will be on.

2. Super Mario All-Stars: A 16-bit remake of the first four Mario games plus Super Mario World and updated sound and graphics, is an amazingly fun title that everyone should own.

1. Sim City: An SNES launch title I regard as one of the best games ever. Sim City’s upbeat sound and graphics, paired with its super-duper fun game play and Nintendo feel to it makes hours go by like minutes. The best SNES game. Period.

Please Introduce yourself

My name is Joe T. and have been a nes enthusiast pretty much all my life, except for a few years when my parents bought us a C64 when i was a kid.

When and why did you start your prestigious site, www.thenesdump.com?

back in 2003 i finished up my nes cart collecting (all but stadium events, panesians and caltron/myriad) and came upon the the nesreproductions.com. i had never heard of unreleased nes games and was very intrigued by these games. I wanted to buy them all but that would be costly. so I decided to try and make my own.

after visiting some forums, i was directed to http://nesdev.parodius.com/bbs/, a forum for all nes hackers and hardware geeks. after a few months of research, and a few hundred bucks worth of equipment, i decided to make my own reproduction.

What was your first game on the site?

The first game i made was Yie Ar Kung Fu. I always loved this game from the arcades and never knew it was released in Japan on the Famicom. and it was one of the easiest to make for a beginner.

How much money do you make from it?

it depends. sometimes i have 2-4 games per week to make, sometimes 10-15. winter is usually busier. i have a full time job so this is just a hobby for me. most of the money goes back into collecting or getting more supplies for making more reproductions.

What is your favorite game?

favorite reproduction is the Famicom only released dream penguin adventure. its about a fat penguin who must lose weight to get his penguin girlfriend back. if you beat the level and are too fat, your girlfriend makes you do it again. pretty wacky game

What is your best-selling game?

probably earthbound or california raisins

What website's have mentioned you? (i.e: what kind of media coverage do you get)

i am always on nintendoage. as for other sites, not really sure, I do sometimes google my games to see where they end up and seems all over the world and many sites that I have never heard of.

What was your proudest moment?

probably my first real cib, spy vs spy 2. i designed the box and manual and was alot of work. it was worth the work though, I love putting out games that were slated to be released in the US but never made it.

nope, that is a fake. a hacker i know made a rick roll demo and i was selling these to people so they could fake out others into thinking it was a real sim city proto, but it would be the rick roll demo

Summer of Proto's #1: Sim city (NES)

Around October 1990, Nintendo Power announced that SimCity would be on the NES. The magazine listed a release date for Spring of 1991. In the December 1990 issue two screenshots from the game were published. Those two screenshots were, for a long time, the only proof that an NES version of the game actually existed.

15 years later, Nintendo Power talked about the game once again, calling it “A lost treasure of the past”. Shown in the screenshot below, they say the game was never released “because of bad timing”. It also says the game was “far in developement” .

Now, in 2011, "Coinheaven" from Nintendoage (founder of thenesdump.com) posted this picture. Will we ever get to play this game? only time will tell.

Summer of Proto's #2: Sega Mega Drive Dragon lair

MrMark0673has found the unreleased Sega Mega Drive version of Dragon's Lair, which is a port of the SNES version. The game remains almost identical. The ROM dumpers have said that the prototype is a fully finished version of the game, playable from start to finish. To Quote MrMark0673, "The only glitch I've seen is that when you duck and fire your weapon, there is no firing animation, so you just shoot the object from your head"

Summer of Proto's #3: Dreamworld Pogie

The game Wonderland Dizzy is probaly the most know unreleased dizzy game, another unreleased Codemasters game was just put online. Dreamworld Pogie,planned for the NES and Sega Game Gear is finally online.

A few days ago on www.yorfolk.com, a dizzy site, posted a bunch of Dizzy stuff to download. One of the items was"Dreamworld Pogie-NES source code" with this comment:

"Any NES technical experts now have the chance to download the source code for a Pogie game which never got released"

it only took a day before someone familiar with code was able to finish the game and and make it work.

SNES game review: Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest

Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest is not a bad game, but its low level of difficulty and bad storyline might be a bit too little for Final Fantasy fans. people who've never played the series or those who've found the others a bit too difficult and complicated might want to check this easier title out. it's good introduction to the world of RPGs and should be looked at.

First Opinion: Didnt I Buy MW2 Last Year?

The newest installment in the Call of Duty series may result in some major deja vu for those of us who had played the series before. While it does feature some interesting new features, the game as a whole feels as stale as MW2 did after COD5... or COD5 after MW1... or MW1 after COD3... anyone else sensing a pattern here?
First of all, the gameplay has hardly changed. Some new weapons do provide a level of novelty to the game; I will be the last person to tell you that crossbow battles aren't one of the most awesome things in the world. With that being said, the concentration of FAMAS campers, claymores, and shotgun n00bs is as great as ever online, and on campaign the storyline and objectives just feel archaic. And as fun as zombies still is (Kennedy, Nixon, Castro, and McNamara!), no significant improvements have been made.

Call of Duty: Black Ops (Second Opinion)

Developed by Infinity Ward, this popular FPS (First Person Shooter) almost my makes the list of top three

games of all time.

Almost.

My only two complaints are that: it doesn't have the greatest graphics and has a few glitches.

But still, its a great game and a must-have.

Taking place during Vietnam, this game has the same parts of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

It has a captivating campaign mode and an online multiplayer mode historic proportions.

It may be difficult for people playing FPSs for the first time , but once you get the hang of it, you will be hooked.

At one point, the Wii version of Activision's Marvel: Ultimate Alliance was going to have Link and Samus Aran. However, Nintendo deiced not to do it and the characters were cut from the final release.

Mario VB (Virtualboy homebrew) Review!

Mario VB is a one level Demo by "Jorgeche", A PVB user. The game is a pretty sweet demo of what could have been. Note, I'm using the reality boy emulator.

Gameplay - 8/10
it is a 2D Mario game where you can jump back and forwards in the screen, and there are a total of 3 layers you can jump to (unlike Wario land which only has two.)
If you press select once you can scroll threw the level and if you press select twice you can move both the far end background (the background at the end you can`t jump to) and the bushes in the front layer.

Story - N/A
There is no story so far, but if the game is ever made past a one level demo then probably Mario has to save Peach from Bowser or something along those lines.

Graphics - 9/10
The graphics don`t jump in your face like the beginning of Mario tennis, but in this game it doesn`t matter since the select functions and 3 layers make it well worth not having in your face graphics. The Title Screen is the best I've seen on a VB, and the sprite's are pretty cool too.

Sound - N/A
Sadly, there is no sound.

Replay Value - 5/10
Just a demo so there is really no replay value, but when the game is finished, I bet it will have a great Replay value!
